In the short term, the results of the archaeological surveys at Annegray will form the core of Emmet Marron’s PhD thesis. However, the long-term aim of the project is to build on the amicable and productive links forged with our French and Italian colleagues over the past three years. To this end, a more ambitious excavation will commence at Annegray in autumn 2012 with a view to better understanding the organisation and development of the site. Our collaboration will be enhanced by the involvement of students from NUI Galway and the University of Besancon, all of whom will take part in the excavation as part of their practical training as archaeologists.
